Village Board

The government of the Village is run by a five member board consisting of a Mayor and four Trustees. Each is elected for a four year term. The Board sets policies for the Village as well as adopts local laws, approves budgets, sets tax rates and supervises all Village departments and agencies. The Board also appoints volunteers to various committees.

Village Administration:
The Village Board of Trustees has created the position of Administrator/Clerk-Treasurer to provide overall direction and coordination of the day to day activities of the Village. The Administrator's duties include acting as executive assistant of the Mayor and Board of Trustees in connection with the conduct of affairs of the Village, overseeing and coordinating the activities of all Village departments to insure effective and efficient operation and carrying out the directives of the Village Board. As Treasurer and chief fiscal officer, the Administrator's duties include receiving taxes, borrowing and investing funds, preparing the budget and the annual financial report. The responsibilities, as Clerk, include attending Board meetings, preparing the meeting agenda and resolutions, recording and transcribing the Board minutes and records management.


Village Court:
The Village Court is headed by a Village Justice who is elected to a four year term. An Acting Justice and Prosecuting Attorney are appointed yearly by the Village Board of Trustees. Cases handled by the Village Court include traffic and parking violations as well as Village Code violations.
